The walls are out and the steelwork is going in!

Holes for the new windows and the Portal frame starts to be constructed.

7th February 2005

First new window frames go in. The Portal frame is largly built. The glass arrives.


Angled windows in place and stonework being reconstructed.


Digger excavates steps to French doors.

13th February 2005

First new window built in. The fireplace is started. The holes for the french windows are knocked out. Happy Birthday Sis!


Angled windows with stonework complete on one.


Studio side with holes cut for the french doors.


Windows and doors with CLEAR! protective seal applied.


The fireplace constructions starts.


Getting and idea of the look of the fireplace and realising some work is required to stop this looking square!

Thanks to the weekends winds, our first 'windfalls' get collected from the garden.

First Glass in!

End wall now finished except stripping and stain of round window.

20th February 2005

More windows going in and first fix for all services.


Wall being rebuilt around the french windows and the old windows being lost in the wall!


Sunken area infront of this weeks external work.


New window cavity created for streched kitchen window into Green Room.


Inside of new Utility window and first fix electrics awaiting fuse box (area green sofa used to be).


Looking back to the Kitchen to see full height of the living area as the new ceiling joists. Old door to the Studio loft is still in place.

27th February 2005

First Velux goes in and the Kitchen is ready for plastering. New drainage in.


Velux outside. No progress on the wall this week as it's been snowing and to cold!

7th March 2005

Two Months in! The plasterers get the 'rebuilding feeling' spread over the walls, while the living room gets to see more sky.


End wall of the kitchen gets prep'ed for the plaster.


End wall plastered.


Upstairs gets it's makeover as well.


At the weekend we have 2 veluxes in, the weather took a break and the wall if finished!


Inside with the light from the veluxes, woodwork prep'ed for the next velux.


This evening we now have 5 velux windows in!, only 3 to go.
